I really liked this latest issue of Nino's It column and decided to translate it. Sometimes Nino can be very frank about his thoughts, especially towards things you would normally expect him to be blase and vague about. In this one, he talked about the hypothetical situation of somebody leaving Arashi. KAT-TUN was also mentioned

Thank you for translating this. Usually I'm not really interest in Nino since he seem diplomatic answering the interview or too mischief. For him to state the fact and matching his feeling is something new for me. I thought he is the taken for granted one.

Thank you so much for translating! I really enjoyed hearing his perspective on the matter, especially after the JE rollercoaster of this year ie rumours of SMAP disbanding, Junno's resignation and KATTUN's 'recharging' period .

But reading Nino saying these kinds of things reassures me, even though all of them have at some point or another expressed their love and dedication to Arashi

"Is that so? But it's because of 'those five people' that 'Arashi' exists, so it becomes something else entirely if it grows or shrinks in number. It's almost as if anyone will do in that case. I don't have anything against that sort of group, but I have no interest in them. I don't think I can keep going if it wasn't the five of us, and I wouldn't want to see that happen either."

^^ Nino's words really resounded within me and I agree -- the Arashi I came to love was the 5 of them so I'd have no interest in an Arashi that didn't have all of the 5 members.

The interview is quite a commitment from Nino. The subtext - promise to continue even when it is hard for him - feels like an old school marriage contract.
