[Arashi] Nino - MORE - 08/2016

Jul 03, 2016 00:27

I really liked this latest issue of Nino's It column and decided to translate it. Sometimes Nino can be very frank about his thoughts, especially towards things you would normally expect him to be blase and vague about. In this one, he talked about the hypothetical situation of somebody leaving Arashi. KAT-TUN was also mentioned ( Read more... )

Thank you for this!
This is especially interesting as I feel that Nino is rarely frank talking about himself or his thoughts.

At first, I was a little disappointed reading that he felt a sort of obligation to do his work but at the same time, I feel when he says he doesn't work for himself that this obligation is to his fans and members. Kind of like giving back?

This is really selfless thinking, but I guess he wouldn't be doing it if he didn't enjoy himself at least a little bit, right? :D

Is it just me?
That obligation thing really bug me.
It's as if he tried to keep it professional. Like, his work and his private life.
I dislike that.
He's indebted. He feels some kind of return must be given to us, to fans, to JE.
I also feels that. But his feelings are stronger.

It is as if Nino we know is Nino we pay him as, not Nino we wanted to see.
Anyway., thanks for translating this! He seems really distant...

No, i get what you mean about keeping it professional. But i think that he doesn't mean obligation in a cold meaning, but more like when he went to Hollywood and they had to shoot their shows early before he went and then the others had to do promotions by themselves, he said more than once that he didn't like the "trouble" he brought them and that Arashi would always come first for him. Or when he has back pains and refuses to stop. He also almost never asks for advice, he always talk like he's troubling others, maybe it has something to do with how he grew up, who knows.

I don't know why in these kind of interviews he always seem to want to keep things super professional only but then he clearly loves being in Arashi, following all of the others works and rewatching theirs. I think in their case obligation is more like gratitude.

Thanks for mentioning gratitude!
I hope so... Well, I only read a little of Nino's interview. I think I'll read more to understand him better. I read somewhere, in interview he didn't really talk about himself? Like, he only shows what we want to see, not how he really is.
Anyway, when you mentioned he talk like he's troubling other, I get what you meant. But doesn't that make him seems like a not confident, like not worth all the problem he makes.

He doesn't really talk much about himself and i also think he doesn't like when the topic is "love" or "marriage" or stuff like that (the questions tend to be the same too, and he replies in the same way so it also sounds repetitive). I personally like the interviews where he talks about acting or music, he seems to be more into them ( ... )

Nino, this time finally, I can say, I understand your feeling.
Arashi is these five people.
And your stance for work and group commitment is something those who decided to leave their group need to ahve IMO

Thank you for the translation ^^

Ah, so he got hair cut, but in WWG his hair was long again and got cut again XDDD I wish my cuticle would grow that fast ^^
