Damn girl, it's wonderful to hear your voice again! :) :) Even Amadeus flocked to the computer to listen!

I liked Paper Moon better, for the sheer fact that it was more upbeat and showed off more of your *brilliant* range. In fact, I'm tempted to suggest starting it from the middle, since most of the auditioners get cut off after 10-20 seconds, regardless of quality. (Note: I have no lack of faith in your ability to hook them for longer than that, but Simon is notorious for being an asshole.)

Upon listening to both a couple times... The very last note of Paper Moon could use just a little more of a punch. That's the only thing that caught my ear. But I'm sure you'll be all jazzed when performing so it won't even be an issue.

Thankee Jen!!! Good feedback. I have to agree with you on Paper Moon though. On both accounts. I have to work on the end, and I need to work on getting the *right* part of the song for the audition.

So you suggest the part from "Without your love.."?

I'm tempted to splice it thus: 1st verse - after all, it's the only part with the title in the line - followed directly by the 2nd grouping of the "Without your love.." bridge. Tacking the first verse to the last 30 seconds of the song would really showcase your versatility, me thinks. At least that's my $.02.

Listening to the ending a few more times, I would *almost* suggest making that last "..believed in me" less staccato, so that you could roll into the last "me" and hold it for an extra beat.

BTW - If Bob hasn't already mentioned, DANKE!! :) Before listening to this, followed by the stuff you emailed, I had -zero- interest in laying down my own tracks!

I vote for "Almost Like Being in Love". Although it's less upbeat, it's bluesier and shows off your voice better.
