Update to Coffee Drinkers

A few of us made good use of them during the colder days during workshops this season.

Looks like it will be a while before we get anything like this again. They've been recalled. Here's the story for anyone interested ( Read more... )

Sorry about that. I couldn't drink them because of the milk factor, but I thought they were a great idea. Maybe someone else will come up with a better way. Also, I have some great coffee carafes that work to keep things really warm for hours, if you want a line on any.

I never bought one but it seems a good idea if they could spend more time testing and re-testing the prod. Looks like that is where they failed. I presume that it was put together to work similar to the MRE heaters? Perhaps with the same chem? Add water to make the chem react and begin heating? Hmm. Definately a problem with consistency it seems from the attached article.

If they could safely pull it off I think it's a GREAT idea.

Hey-
This has nothing to do with coffee.
I read Kathyc's post (on B's site) and the responses to it, but can't post because I'm not on her friends list. I think you are responding to their anger with grace and calm- and I wanted to let you know I appreciated that.
Well done- especially as everyone seems to be jumping all over you for having even a moderately dissenting opinion.
