I finally have a baby for my birthday this year. Lots to be thankful for :)

Wow, time sure flies when you're parenting! I can't believe that Gabe is over 2 months old now. He's up to 23" long and weighs 12lbs 6oz. Still some motor skills that aren't quite where he should be for his age (as per his developmental peds appt at the end of Sept), but he'll be starting PT 2x/month under NY's early intervention program to address ( Read more... )

Last week we didn't know if he'd ever leave the hospital.

This afternoon he came home.

After the doom and gloom of his first couple days of life, I'm happy to report that we're now looking at bringing our son home soon :) There are a couple of things that we need to watch before that can happen, plus his neurological development will be followed closely after discharge, but otherwise we couldn't be more happy with his progress ( Read more... )

Hi all, Sara again, thank you for thoughts and prayers. We have a long road ahead. I took an early discharge from St. Mary's last night (when I would have otherwise left Fri or more likely Sat with a c-section) so I could see Gabe in the NICU. His EEG yesterday wasn't good, showed pretty much all seizure activity instead of normal brain waves. ( Read more... )

at 12:37PM EST, after a way-to-long labor (and unfortunate C-section), Baby Gabriel was born into this world. We have no details about weight, and no pictures to post yet. Gabriel suffered some respiratory problems at birth, and was intubated. He is now breathing on his own, but has been transfered to the NICU at Albany Medical Hospital. Sara is ( Read more... )
