~hugs back~ Thanks. It was definitely traumatic all the way around. We'd go by and visit him at the vet's office to check on him and to make certain that he didn't think we'd just abandoned him.
As someone who's been in rescue for many, many years -- that's utterly ridiculous. Yes, I would assume that an assistant did it. A lot of those in-and-out vet clinics do that. Usually, it's no big deal, because neutering is extremely simple. In fact, in capable hands, it can be accomplished in mere minutes and the dog under anesthesia maybe a total of half an hour. If that. They can be very quick.
I've watched over countless dogs and puppies after neutering, at many cheap, discount, ghetto vets (rescue groups gotta get it done as inexpensively as possible), and never heard of such a thing. I'm so sorry for Cody's pain.
~nods~ That's what we figure happened, and the clinic does a lot of good for the community, which is the only reason that my dad didn't go ballistic on them over it. We figure that the assistant didn't realize they'd done it so badly. At least we hope that's the case. I'd hate to think they knew they'd screwed up and just sent Cody home anyway. ~sighs~
Thanks. We'll just we happy to get him back home with us.
It was a nightmare all the way around. Luckily, this one looks like it's just about over.
Thanks! I've been craving a cheeseburger, but I know better than to do that. LOL And you're right, scrambled eggs are a good comfort food, and they're low in fiber and high in protein, which I need right now.
He's doing much better, thank you. He was bouncing around kissing everyone when we went to visit him on Monday.
Our regular vet has been great about this (she's the one who did the surgeries to repair the botched neutering), but that pet clinic will never touch another of our animals.

I'm glad your diverticulitis is better, though. Scrambled eggs is a good comfort food!
