I didn't expect Chronicles of Riddick to be good.  I just didn't expect it to be so abysmally putrid.  The little introduction by the creepy (and sadly untalented) director set the unfortunate tone for the feature presentation.  If computers of the future spout drivel like "TRAJECTORY...UNGOOD" then I think we just go ahead and send Vin Diesel over ( Read more... )

Chris thinks the turkey smells bad.  Honestly, I can't smell much of anything except what I presume to be the standard turkey smell.  This turkey still has two weeks until its "use by" date, and it has been refrigerated ever since I bought it.  I'll admit that my sense of smell sucks, but I don't go around smelling turkey breast on a regular basis ( Read more... )

The other day I heard on the radio that ticket sales for Stadium of Fire are really slow this year.  One of the DJs suggested that it's because Beck is hosting this year.  I thought to myself, "Now that's a shame that people in this state don't appreciate Beck."  And I wondered if maybe I should look into dragging Chris down to Provo for that.

Someone brought in donuts from Wal-Mart, and finally I caved and took one (it's a raised donut that's chocolate-covered...but then it has nuts sprinkled on top as if it were a cake donut).  I don't care so much that I'm eating an unnecessary donut that will make me even fatter.  It bugs me that it's from Wal-Mart; I make it a point to not shop ( Read more... )

NoobPuppy spent yesterday afternoon in my office and attracted quite the crowd.  He just laid on the floor and tried to get some shut-eye amidst the commotion.  As we walked out to the car to go home, he detoured to the grass to pee, and he peed enough to indicate that he'd been holding it.  Maybe NoobPuppy used to have a home after all.

I sold my older car to an auto recycling place that had a booth at the Live Green thing downtown a couple weekends ago. The girl recognized me and remembered talking to me. A few days ago when I came home, there was a duck couple hanging out on the lawn across the street. Yesterday going out to my car, there was a goose couple resting in a parking space. And this morning there was a bang and some squawking at my office's window.
