Beep continues to slowly get better.  He tells me it's time to go for a walk and is at the door waiting to get out. He cantered for the first time in a week today.  Yahoo!  He sometimes still falls over, like when he tries to turn quickly or shakes his head.  He can shake his head sometimes and not fall over.  So, whew!  I hope he continues to make ( Read more... )

Spring break was a whirll of fun with barn hunt, herding and walks with grandkids.  There were a few rainy days, but they aren't like Oregon's rainy days where it goes on and on.  It was nice to have those days just to relax and enjoy some inside time.

As the snow melts, the season of the smelly dog begins.  In the winter everything is frozen and the snow actually keeps the dogs pretty darn clean.  There's nothing disgusting to roll in and no swimming wet dog smell.  Now the snow is almost gone and our muddy season is upon us.  Ew!  I'm glad it's only about a month long!  I let the dogs go ( Read more... )

Never in a zillion years did I ever think one of my dogs would be a daddy!  Dove and Rooster had a successful affair and are expecting puppies mid April.  I think that they'll be lovely puppies and I'm excited to see what they are like.  I had Dove two weeks and she fit in so seamlessly.  She even got along with bitchy Poppet!  I got to work her on ( Read more... )

Good gosh!  Time is really flying.  There was lots of herding, swimming and walks on beautiful fall evenings and days.  I'm loving the cooler weather as are the dogs.  No snow yet, but maybe this weekend.

After many years of grass seed farming I got a chance to do some Idaho farming.  I've traded grass seed for alfalfa and some Teff grass.

We trailed again last Saturday.  The last one in the three one day PN, Nursery and NN series.  New place in Notus with Patrick's sheep. For Nursery the sheep didn't know where they were going, so were nice to work.  For Pro-Novice they had figured out where the exhaust was and if you didn't cover, they'd leave.

Where did June go!  Ha!  We have been enjoying a relatively cool summer so far.  Mid 70's to mid 80's and even some rain.  It stayed green for a lot longer than it usually does, which I love!  Now we're in to mid to upper 90's.  Yikes!  Not my favorite, but it is summer.
