Three years ago, I formed the idea in my head that if I had the strength to change myself, I could handle anything thrown at me in life. I think I've forgotten what those words really mean

I don't get people who recognize flaws in themselves, but don't want to or are unwilling to change them. Am I the only one who genuinely wants to be a better person?
