Stupid rain killed my poppies before I could take a picture of them.
They are lying, crushed, on the soggy earth, all crumpled and sad looking.
The color isn't even the same. It's poppy-lite.
Crud.

Poppies and peonies seem to be quite subject to rain-damage, and they both seem to bloom just before a rain.

My peonies waethered this store fairly well, but they do tend to end up nose down in the dirt, too. I bought these "grow-through" stands a few years ago after just such an occurence, but I never remember to put them up until it's already too late.

Mine finally looked pretty amazing (some six years after planting them). But they sure don't last long enough.
