I LOVE THIS.
*GRINGRINGRIN*
I love the whole trying to figure it out, and Dean's protectiveness, and how hard it is for Sam to control it even when they know what they're up against. I love the idea of them chipping away at it little by little and I LOVE the whole vulnerability of the way it's tied in with his memories of Jess.
I love it so much that I want to go through the whole thing with a fine-tooth comb and tell you all the things that are amazing about it. And I can't do that now but I WILL later because you deserve it. And this is WONDERFUL. And thankyouthankyouTHANKYOU!

I think it just takes a bigger leap to feel comfortable with the idea that this is actually the character talking to us rather than just having their thoughts and feelings described. And I think it's particularly tough with Dean because he's hardly forthcoming about his feelings. That said, I really think it added something here. It made everything feel that much more intimate. And it was great to have front-side seats for all of that worrying and puzzling out. Plus, it was a whole new vantage point on the relationship, which is cool. This really opened my eyes to a whole new approach ( ... )
