sometimes joonmyun looks at baekhyun and and the weird urge to shake the younger’s shoulders and demand Why? rears its ugly head within him, and he has to exercise all of his willpower to not do just that.

it’s not baekhyun’s fault -- no one’s, really -- that baekhyun gets the position as the lead vocal in exo-k instead of joonmyun. sure, he gets his time to stand in the front and sing but that’s not really enough. after seven years of working past his limits and swallowing down disappointments and endless what are you going to do with your life? from family members, joonmyun thinks he deserves more than just this.

after all, it wasn’t baekhyun who had to watch juniors debut with bitter resentment, who cried late into the night in the corner of practice rooms with the lights dimmed because all he wants is to just give up, it’s been years and years and yearsbut then joonmyun looks at kyungsoo and he feels a different kind of anger, not directed at the boy, but to himself
