Weevils ...

Ewww .... I just opened up a new bag of rice and there were weevils inside. It makes my hair stand when I see these black things crawling around! I've never had weevils in my rice at home. I wonder why they were in this brand new bag. Anyway, I went onto a forum and read that garlic helps to prevent weevils. I dumped a whole piece of garlic into my ( Read more... )

The other thing you could use to chase the weevils is to put in some dried chilli.

Keke I would have thrown the whole bag away and bought a new bag. Do they actually go away or the garlic and dried chilli is suppose to keep them away before they appear?

Chase them away? So where will the weevils run to? Into your kitchen cabinet???

Well I guess maybe what you can do is to put a towel (can get the cheapo type like morning brand) and place it onto of the rice. The weevils will climb onto the towel (I don't know for whatever reason) then you throw the towel away. Well at least that was what I did the last time.
