Does anyone have recommendations for a good French restaurant in the East Bay area?

Not the east bay, but Mountain view has Le Petite Bistro which is pretty good. Also, if youre looking to spend a lot of money there is Chez TJ.

We've got reservations for tonight. What's the dress code like?

It's Berkeley, the whole town is allergic to 'fancy' so I guess business casual is the best way to describe it. Clean, fits well, no holes. You'd probably feel way overdressed in a suit, but a blazer wouldn't get you weird looks. Neither would jeans.
