Does anyone do Richmond/Albany to Southern Marin commute during the week? I have to get to my destination by 8am. How long do you think it takes? Google Maps shows very little traffic however I'm very suspicious of Google Maps.

The Perseid meteor shower is coming up in a few weeks...can anyone recommend a good place to watch it from? Fields where it's easy to lie on one's back are probably good. I expect I'll have to drive a bit to get a good view away from lights and so forth, but I'd like to stay within, say, 45 minutes or so of San Francisco.

Where in the Bay Area can I find lots of insects to photograph? I am particularly interested in butterflies and dragonflies, although other insects would be great too.
If anyone could recommend specific locations that are abundant with insects, I'd be very grateful.
