Hamster Wheel 1/4, John/Rodney, humiliation, d/S

He never knows how Rodney will do it. The few other people John's trusted with this side of him have always had to have a script. They wanted to draw lines that they wouldn't cross, have safewords, schedule the encounter. Not Rodney. That's part of the appeal, if there can be said to be an appeal to the game Rodney plays with John. Sometimes it isn't a game; sometimes they're in public and Rodney doesn't even know he's doing it to John

Hey, thanks for letting us know there will be more. I can be patient. Well, I can, I'm just not... most of the time. I'm also going to end up putting all the posts together in one document once it's finished unless you post it whole somewhere. Hint, hint.

Sorry to test your patience. Three more parts up, finally. And I will definitely collect this all together and edit it. Even if I don't de-anon with it, I'll put a complete version somewhere.

John's not really ready, but he's not going to be ready maybe ever, so he does it at the first opportunity, a rare night that Rodney leaves the lab before burnout o'clock.
When John shows up outside his door, Rodney's mouth veers down on one side, but he lets John in without comment.
John's been rehearsing and psyching himself up for a while now, so he only has to do a little restless pacing before he's able to face Rodney. "Did you ever want any of it, really?" he asks. "Being in charge, being in control-- that, sure. But the rest of it..."
"Son of a bitch." Rodney crosses his arms and looks away. "I knew I shouldn't have kissed you."
"...You didn't want it like that." John thought he was braced for this, but it's like being whacked across the backs of his knees.
Rodney glares, strangely betrayed. "What are you doing? We have no idea what that thing really did to you. For all we know you could start growing an exploding tumor or Iratus DNA or a third eye. Any day now, you might have to go back to that planet and get your balls

"--No one thinks that," John denies. "I mean, we all have our moments, but it's... it's just people. We make fun of Teyla meditating and Ronon eating everything whole, it's not because we think they're a joke..."
"Please. You weren't rolling your eyes at every word out of their mouths. You treated me like a sitcom character for years and you know it. And the sick thing is, you're probably the best friend I've ever had. You."
The scorn in Rodney's voice scours John to the bone. It's a physical pain, this shame; it doesn't fire him up, doesn't have anywhere to go, so it just hurts, he can't handle it. He finds himself wrapping both arms around his stomach like he's trying to staunch an open gut wound

This is so complex and John finally having to be honest with himself and Rodney - Oh, Rodney, the part where he says of course he got off on humiliating John, that they rolled their eyes and laughed at what he said and he's not oblivious, for god's sake, making John see how, yeah, they genuinely hurt Rodney all the time. That is extraordinary, the way you've made this make such psychological sense. Plus, John, finally getting enough distance to see that no matter what Rodney says, he was doing it for John, because he loves (whether romantic or platonic love doesn't matter).
This just gets better and better and more extraordinary with every installment. It's the most exciting, interesting story in SGA right now, for me.

"What?" John straightens in surprise.
"Symbolic, right? You did find someone else," Rodney says. "Or, wait... I suppose these could mean that you've just given up on sex."
"How can you have so much figured out and not get this?" John asks. "I gave it to you.""You... oh." Rodney's eyes round in surprise ( ... )
