I saw some "stuffie nets" at the Dollar Tree a few months ago, along with netted cubes (which hang pretty well, for small numbers of stuffies.) However, my favourite one was made out of one of my old baby blankets - it's just a triangle of fabric anyway, so we folded mine over and used it.

Um, most of my experience says that standard electronics function better in the cold. Your fingers might not, but it's overheating that's the problem with the digital toys. Of course, with the weird angle on that room, it doesn't make for a good angle. I'd look at insulating it anyway - it looks like it might get awfully warm in summer, too.

Seconded on the idea that the computers are likely to fare quite well in the cold. I also don't know if you normally leave them on, but if you do they're likely to make that room a good bit warmer, even with all that glass. Not sure what that'll do to the electric bill, though -- I've been in the 24/7 uptime habit since before I paid for my own electricity, so it's just part of my budget.

Thinning out is all too familiar -- Sandie's been combing through boxes more or less continuously for the last two months, with whole van loads going to ARC or sold on Craigslist. The hardest part right now is that we've been doing a certain amount of that for years and somehow we still have more stuff than space. Does that ever end?

You tried IKEA? They have a LOT of storage options.

You may wish to try something like "Babies R Us" to find the nets. For cost value sake, I recomend that you just use a blanket that would be in storage anyway or if it's net you really want, I recomend good ol Home Despot or even an Army Surplus store to just get netting, cut or fold to suit then get the hangers from yon hardware store, hooked screws are just fine.

So are you still in the neighborhood? I guess I'm out of the loop -- not surprising, we were a little busy a couple weeks ago and I'm still waiting on surgery.

Congratulations on making progress on the storage unit. Those things are always terrifically daunting.
