I now officially love thursdays - yesterday I left work, grabbed cookies for hector and drove the hour north to see him - only to have it turn out that our wires were crossed and he was in DC for 2 hours... It's feast or famine here in the world of CS... It is no longer daily 90+ degrees in here. No no, they've turned on the AC - now it's 60 or below everyday. I have resorted to blankets and sweatshirts on top of wintery looking clothes. Maybe tommorrow I'll bring gloves... *shivers*

I got to read a bunch of poetry by some middle schoolers in our area. One struck me as particularly funny and appropriate for me:

Makes me jump and say hooray

I woke up this morning to the apt. phone ringing - dragged myself up and went to answer it and proceeded to have one of the shortest conversations ever.
"Hello?"
"Claire."
"Wrong number."
"Thank you."
I was amused.

I have a new…second cousin? First cousin once removed? Yeah, something like that. My cousin had her baby - 8.75 lb baby girl named Ruby June. That was my wake-up call this morning :)

Spoke with my mother last night - who apparently talked to her guidance counselor at work and found out that all across the country there will be openings for guidance counselors in 3-4 years - right after I will have gotten my masters - and that she would be thrilled to set-up an internship for me when the time comes.
