One of the traits of someone with BPD is that we take on the traits of the people around us. We have no idea who we are and generally just feel empty. So liking or disliking whatever the people around us likes or dislikes makes us feel more grounded. But we end up losing ourselves in the process. We still don't know who we are. Lots of good insight in this piece. I have to enjoy my preferred tunes on the sly too. Yay for ear-buds. They annoy me, but it helps.

I've never read about BPD from someone who could really capture it. I'm grateful that you've written this. It actually inspired me to do more digging about BPD on the Mayo website. <3
