So, I saw War Horse.  There were about two minutes of, "Am I buying this?"  And then I bought it.  The story is kind of dopey, if traumatizing at times, but the puppetry is truly impressive.  I didn't get random minstrel guy, really, but that's okay.  The goose was awesome, though I'm not sure how you put that on your resume.

Tonight, I went to the "Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th Anniversary Event" (how frightening is it that it's been 25 years?), which was two restored season one episodes on the big screen, along with some behind the scenes commentary and footage.  Sadly (?), there were only two people in costume in the theater, although the crowd did seem at ( Read more... )

Why is Patrick Stewart so awesome?

I was listening to Michael "Midi" McCarthy's CDs while cleaning today.  I haven't listened to them in YEARS, but the midi helicopter and crickets and the fact that he sings "Don't Cry Out Loud" never, ever get old.  Anyway, I began to wonder what he was up to these days, and I discovered this:

I'm not even going to talk about the sums of money I've been pouring into the Zoe situation, but it's all worth it, because as best the doctor running the ultrasound could determine, Zoe does not have pancreatitis.  She does have idiopathic gastrointestinal inflammation, and in fact, one of the worst that the doctor has seen.  The speculation is ( Read more... )
