After reading an interesting thread in the chatter post about some phobias people have, I've gotten curious: what do you think the characters' phobias could be?

I would love if there were mini fills (or mini mini fills, or even mini mini mini fills, or... you get the idea XD) depicting a scene focused on the character and their phobia/fear, the more the merrier! :)

I was totally going to post some RTYI fics (aka. shameless plugging) of some of my stories: Sherlock with claustrophobia and John with arachnophobia, but then realize you already read and reviewed them (thank you, by the way; glad you enjoyed them). I did enjoy writing both of them... maybe I'll write you a mini-fill if I can get in the proper mood.

(Grr... had to delete and repost b/c I wrote RYTI... and I'm too OCD to let it stay that way if I can help it.)

If it helps I always mix up letters too when writing AYRT, RTYI, etc. and I always have to delete and repost because my own OCD tells me I can't just leave it like that! XD

I remember your wonderful fics! Between those, the other phobia-related prompt and the thread in the chatter post I really wanted to read more! XD If you manage to write something else then by all means please do, I'll love it!

I was writing a small bit about Mycroft myself, it's interesting :)

Could you please post links to your previously written phobia stories? I didn't see them on your lj and I'd love to read them!

Sure...

Claustrophobia (I plan on cleaning this one up and posting it on my LJ, but have not yet done so): http://sherlockbbc-fic.livejournal.com/10038.html?thread=52561206#t52561206

Arachnophobia (may or may not clean this one up): http://sherlockbbc-fic.livejournal.com/7277.html?thread=35959149#t35959149

Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for reminding me about this prompt; I didn't realize there were any fills for it. Off to read them now...

For some reason I've got a mental image of Sherlock standing on a table imperiously commanding John to "Kill it!" while John is looking down at "it" and rolling his eyes at Sherlock.

.... Actually, I think this might have been part of someone's fill though I'm not sure... (I'm not even sure what the "it" was).

I think I've seen a fill somewhere out there in the wild cosmo similar to the scene you described here, only John was the one freaking out and it was about a spider... Maybe we're talking about two completely different scenes, I don't know XD

But now I have that mental image too, oh dear! XD

Fill: Fear of Touch nejem August 16 2011, 06:35:49 UTC
Most of the time it's alright. It's part of the whole ptsd thing, maybe it will go away with time. Maybe if he can ignore it. It's a pretty minor thing, isn't it? Compared to the limp, that is. He just has to keep his personal space. He can function, it's not so bad, not much touching required, now he's neither a doctor, nor a soldier any more ( ... )

So Sherlock starts being- well, subtle is not the word for it and considerate doesn't really nail it either. He makes a habit of standing closer, brushing his arm against John's from time to time. It's intensely irritating, but it gets a fraction less frightening every time ( ... )

This is BRILLIANT. I love how you work in little moments from the episodes and then bring it around to the pool. Gorgeous.

Oh my, anon, anon! This was wonderful, absolutely wonderful: as the anon above me said, I really loved how you took different scenes from the episodes and described them through the eyes of John's phobia, it was... fascinating, interesting, a little heartbreaking, wonderful!

Also your choice for John's phobia was very interesting, I liked how you fit it with the episodes!

Well done, anon, well done indeed! I loved this!

I can't think of anything else to say that's any better, so I'm going to third the OP's review.

Mini fill: A place for everything and everything in its place nejem August 16 2011, 20:09:12 UTC
Mycroft stepped into his bedroom and froze on the threshold, every muscle in his body going rigid and breath catching in his throat.

To anyone else the room would have looked perfectly normal: low soothing lights, beige-painted walls, dark wooden matching furniture, white Egyptian cotton sheets covering the large mahogany bed, the sparse decoration of light blue curtains and a Vernet replica on the wall.

But to Mycroft it looked wrong: with quick movements he rushed to straighten the left curtain, slide the painting half inch to the right, fix a barely visible crease on the sheets of the perfectly made bed and move the lamp right at the centre of the bedside table ( ... )
