Spent the day at the world famous Barrett Jackson car auction with my Dad.  Great times!  It's obvious when we get together that I'm my father's daughter.

Also, saw a herd of elk trumpeting in the moolight at about 12:30 this morning.  neat-o!!!!

Every year in homage to Earth Day, I use The Nature Conservancy's website to calculate my carbon footprint.  I am down four carbon tons this year!  Feeling pretty awesome about that.

Here is my favorite new thing:  I bring my own tupperware to restaurants for leftovers :-)  I have always felt verrrry conflicted about taking home food, because I hate ( Read more... )

This weekend, I realized that even idiots can get graduate degrees.  Which, as I write it, sounds awfully judgmental, and that's not what I mena at all.  Just, that, school is normal, and everyone goes there, and I don't know why I thought graduate studies would interest only the best and brightest our country has to offer.  Also, I had to be in a ( Read more... )

So I went to this class at my gym yesterday, the one I was attending 3-4 time a week before my foot surgery, then camp etc.  I had graduated up to 2 blocks under my step (hells yeah!) and was getting good at all the different steps and whatnot (not that every class is the same, just that the moves are all pretty similar ( Read more... )

Camp is over, and I am SO GLAD.  It's been a pretty ridiculous summer, and not in a good way.  The staff was mostly terrible and self-absorbed, which made the required teamwork (and everything else) pretty difficult for the whole of camp.  The end was dry-eyed and lukewarm.  The kids were amazing, especially the last week, and I think I'll miss ( Read more... )
