Dialect Happiness!
There was a really awesome article in Newsday (local newspaper) recently about my dialect. Highlights of the article include the part where they say that there are four main varieties of Long Island dialect: Italian, Jewish, Irish, and Hispanic. Yom Hashoah
So, today is Yom Hashoah, which, according to Wikipedia, is an Israeli holiday (for certain values of holiday), which is kind of weird since I would think of it more as a Jewish holiday, but whatever.
