Disaster Relief Fundraising Auction

Mar 14, 2011 22:15

Inspired by the wonderful efforts of help_japan to raise money for aid and relief in the aftermath of the recent devastating earthquakes and tsunamis that have taken place in Japan, we here at shinee_replay thought we’d also provide an opportunity for all of our talented and generous community members to do the same.

If you are an author or artist in the SHINee fandom who is willing to take requests for drabbles, fics, or fanart in exchange (as thanks, really) for donations towards this cause, please comment to this post and provide the following information:

* Important! Please designate whether you are offering fanart or fanfic in the Subject line of your comment. (If you’re offering both, post in two separate comments). Scroll down to the comments of this post to see some examples! *

Guidelines for Posting Offerings:
• For authors, your minimum offering must be at least a 200 word drabble.

• For artists, your minimum offering must be at least an uncolored sketch, doodle, or cartoon featuring one member.

• Everyone has different strengths, capabilities, and schedules, but we urge you to please consider your limits carefully, and not offer anything you do not have complete confidence in being able to deliver.

Guidelines for Bidding:
• All new bids should be raised by at least $1 (USD) from the previous amount. This also holds true for authors and artists offering multiple lots. So if, for example, someone is offering 3 fics to the highest bidders, and starting the bid at $3, the scale of the winning bids might look something like $3, $4, $5.
• You are free to bid on as many fanworks as you’d like, but just remember that if you win all of your bids, it is then your obligation to donate the amount you specified.

• If you are unable to follow through on your donation within the required timeframe, the auction will then pass to the next highest bidder.

• While we are only encouraging our authors and artists to offer what they have the capability of doing, please do keep in mind when making your donations that we cannot guarantee that you will indeed get the fic or art piece that you wanted.

• For non-US residents, please make use of a currency converter when making your bids and donations, so that there is no misunderstanding between yourself and the author/artist.

• Also to avoid confusion, please do not send in the actual donation until after you have received a confirmation of winning the bid from the author or artist.

Fundraising Timeframe:
March 14th - 27st - Authors and Artists will post their offerings, these will be available to everyone for browsing. Anyone who wishes to bid on fics or art may do so during this time.
March 28th - 31st - During this period, the authors and artists will determine the winners of their individual auctions, notify these winners via comment and/or pm, and exchange proof of the donations (through screencaps, or forwarding email-confirmations if necessary, with personal information blurred or partially removed).

After the end of the March, this post will be closed to commenting.

Information about Making Donations and Vetted Organizations:
