my mom has always told me to do whatever makes me happy in life. she has always said not to worry about money, but to be whatever i truly wanted and to be the best that i could be doing it. the rest would fall into place. she told me that if i wanted to be a garbage-woman to be the best damned garbage-woman i could be, and that if i wanted to be a rocket scientist to be the best rocket scientist i could be. i don't think i that i have completely followed this advice, but i think that it's pretty good.

the best i advice i ever received was "dont take advice from anyone."
if we try, for a second, to ignore how paradoxical this really is, we can certainly see the beauty of the message; it speaks to being true to yourself. it is a wonderful thing to have the opinions of others helping you build confidence in your own ability to make decisions. when it comes down to it, however, you do what is best for you, regardless of what anyone has to say. this is always the case in individuals who are independent beings, i.e., anyone who is not still an infant. once we grow out of our infancy, we become capable of making our own decisions, as well as to bear the accompanying responsibilities. so the beauty in the advice to not take advice from anyone is liberating and self-gratifying. it shows that we can - if we apply ourselves - find beauty in a fleeting existence, and that we can do it on our own. well, that is my take on it.

you win.for three reasons.

one. i like it.
two. it gives me room to still not take advice, but do so in an intelligent manor.
three. they are boys socks so girls lose.

we aren't independant though. the idea of a group that interacts through communication, and learning experiences implies that we will impart that knowledge to others and they will take it into consideration. This doesn't mean you can't be independant, it just means you have an open mind.

If nobody took advice from anyone else we wouldnt be able to learn without doing, we would have to experience every painful mistake on our own. By taking advice we can enjoy our lives to the fullest.

Now thats just a jumble of words though. Advice is given in tiny different ways, and you take it every day regardless of how independant you think you are. For instance, how did you discover many of the bands you listen to now? Probably through Daniel, or Brett, or Gem's advice. They said hey this band rocks and you listened to them, you took their advice.

I dont think anyone is independant enough to just go on their own, unless they are a hermit.

My best advice was to "dance like no ones watching"
haha im kidding thats so lame. If i saw someone dancing like nobody was watching id probably break in and just laugh until they cried.

My advice is watch more scrubs, that show will blow your mind.
And listen to more Joshua Radin.

And go to the bar next thursday !!!!!!

AND dance like no ones watching!
