I could easily spend my days worrying - about a long, possibly endless list of issues. I've spent the last week plauged by self doubt, analysing every facet of my being until I no longer even resemble myself and putting the finishing touches to my core of neuroticism. I loathe being like this. Time to practice not being consumed by anxiety - over ( Read more... )

Yes indeed! When the imponderables are closing in on you, get outside, somewhere colourful, and get yourself pursued through a maze by geese! This should be available on the NHS, ideally.

I managed to get just one picture of the geese before they came rushing at me in one great gaggle with that frightening glint in their eyes. I have to say, I squealed really loudly and hid behind a tree!

Hampton Court! It is lovely there. It's a pity hedge mazes aren't popular over here. The geese must settle for chasing us down the sidewalk. It's just not the same, really.

I do love a good hedge maze - although I do tend to panic a bit thinking I may not find my way out before everyone goes home for the day!

Now you see I'm not a day worrier, I'm much better at 2-4am. Or even 5am. Onwards. Which is why reading a good book before I fall asleep is critically important.

I'm a good 3am worrier too. It REALLY drives me out of my mind, maybe I need to take up meditation or something equally zen like...

Also, Hampton Court is lovely, you should visit one day as they have lovely geese.

Oh, also, I've never been to Hampton Court. Which is a fairly amazing thing since I've been lots and lots of places. I think.

Hope you're worrying a little less, though - it's seldom productive.

What lovely looking grounds :)

As a seasoned goose-avoider (York uni campus is plagued by the blighters), my tip to you is: Always carry bread laced with sleeping tablets!  Just remember not to get it mixed up with your sandwiches.

Maybe I could try gin soaked bread and keep the sleeping tablets for myself - lord knows I could do with some!

Now where the hell have you been? Wait, I know the answer to that - Canada. See, I read your journal and it said you were back, now does that mean back, back or just out of the wilds and into Canadian civilisation back? I would bombard you with questions but that always seems disconcerting..
