So, I need a new cellphone. I've actually needed one for a long time, but I've just now admitted it to myself and decided to do something about it. Would anyone like to recommend a particular brand/phone/plan? I'm new to this whole contract-laden purchasing thing

Verizon has been nothing but a plague on my family's house. I do not believe it is possible to suck more at customer service than Verizon. Their one positive point is supposed to be a lot of coverage: I have lived in three houses up and down the East Coast which have gotten near zero reception from Verizon. For a straight six months they were charging my little sister for downloading games on her cell phone, a capacity which the phone is physically incapable of, and every month we'd have to call and be given the run around for however long until they finally took the charges off the bill, only to repeat them a month later. They changed another sister's text messaging plan Without Telling My Family so that incurred a lot of money. They are bad, bad people. And that is how I feel about that!
