So I was in a car accident last night. It was not severe and no one was seriously hurt (although I think I suffered some whiplash.) I was stopped in line at a red light when all of the sudden someone slammed into the back of me. go to the doc

trust me, you never know what it actually will turn out to be, so it is better to be safe than sorry

and a friend told me with hit and runs, it is very possible that your deductable is waived...check your policy...and if they don't catch the guy, see about hiring a no fee lawyer to cover your ass...insurance companies don't like to tell you about things like covering your medical and the like...

hope you feel better and I hope they get that guy who ran off

Ooh, that's terrible...I'm glad nobody was severely injured.

I was rear-ended in almost exactly the same way last fall--luckily the driver that hit me stuck around, so I didn't have quite as much hassle as you did. (I'm impressed by your presence of mind to get his license # AND find the pieces of his headlight!)

My insurance company told me at the time that you can claim an injury from an accident up to a year after the accident took place--so even if you don't go to the doctor immediately, if you start having neck problems or something in the next few months, it's still claimable. And if they catch the turkey that rear-ended you, it will definitely be his insurance company footing the bill...

Good luck with everything. Ugh, I hate accidents...

Geezus! I hope you're ok. I've heard sometimes people don't feel injuries until days later.

I'm so happy you are okay, but I'm sorry that you had to go through that.

It's always good to go to the doctor to document that you did feel some results, just in case things materialize later that weren't readily apparent now.

They'd better find that fucker who left the scene. That is seriously bad news.
