The  Gulag Archipelago was one of the most heartbreaking, eye-opening and strangely, disturbingly beautiful things I have ever read.

The world has lost another great man.

ETA : I didn't realize he'd lived in Vermont while in exile from Russia.  I'm unsurprised. All the cool people love my home state.

Just got back from taking Ethan to see Wall-E. It was definitely worth the watch-- one of those brilliant pixar movies that are appropriate for kids without being boring for adults. Also, ADORABLE.

It  is officially my birthday now.

I am 28, and have done few of the things I thought I would have by this time.

3 glasses of wine later this seems okay.

Orlando was overall pretty nice.  Spent a lot of time playing in the pool; disillusioned by Sea World. Did see a fantastic pirate dinner adventure show, though, in which Ethan got to race around the elaborate set in a little motorboat as part of the show, and then dressed up as a tory and got to shoot pirates ( Read more... )

I knew I shouldn't have waited this long to try to get tickets to sex and the city on Friday.  I got some at Hoffman but the showing I wanted was sold out already. BOO.

6:20 it is, then.

I'm totally excited in a ridiculous girly way to see this movie.
