And a happy new year. /sarcasm

I can't post about this yet on Facebook (so please don't mention it there) because I have a few day care parents (and some of my relatives) on that f-list, but I had to post somewhere.

I'm about to be jobless. I'm kinda seething. )

The problem with that Karin is that the woman in question is family to Myra. Filing suit would be tantamount to excommunication from the family I think. I wish Myra could take action, but I think it thins case she needs to count her blessing s that the business never went under her name.

That was what I was going to point out. At this point anything I do would just make me look like a jerk. But as Jos said, at least she tanked the business, not me. If I'd dropped the ball because of her sloppy business practice, and she'd given me shit for it, I don't think I could've been able to keep my mouth shut.

I knew this, but it still makes my blood boil. I like the idea of you becoming a nanny to make ends meet. At least until you get another job.

Oregon sucks! Come home! We miss you! Could Kurt get his job back at Metropolis? What about you?

At this point, Kurt REALLY wants to stay here. So does mom. What we're hoping to do is to get both of them settled financially (which I'm no longer going to be providing anyway come the first) and they want to try to stay in the apartment we've been renting. No expensive move, no hassle. They just both need jobs and at least one car to share between them before I can go anywhere.

At least that's the course of action laid out as of last night as our best-case-scenario. That could change over the weekend. Or next week. Or anytime really, clearly the plans I'm making aren't holding up so well.

Jesus Harvey Christ. Sounds like the college I attended. Board of directors did the whole smoke-and-mirrors thing to show investors how well they were doing, then pissed away the school's finances on a string of bad decisions. Faculty members were cheated out of months of salary, investors were screwed, and I have a degree from a college that no longer exists.

You'd think people would have enough of a conscience to not take out family members when they set out to shoot themselves in the foot. Very uncool. Well, what goes around comes around and I wouldn't want to be the part of their anatomy that this will eventually come back to bite.

I hope you and Kurt find something to keep afloat financially that will allow you to stay in Oregon, but it's gonna be slim pickings till the economy turns around.

I'm kind of floundering over here. You know, mouth opening and closing soundlessly like a particularly retarded-looking fish. I'm SO sorry things aren't going well, and sending all the good thoughts and love I can your way. LOVE YOU!!!

Myra, one of the first things Matthew said when hearing about this entry was, "How could this happen to Myra? She's one of the nicest people in the world!" I truly agree with him! We are extremely sorry how things turned out and are angry with your stepmom! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! You are in our thoughts!
