Jensen and Jared watch

Apr 11, 2012 19:05

Where have J2 been on my journal lately? I am totes behind in my squeeing!

So besides SPN, I've been doing a spot of J2 viewing lately. And have been intending for ages to do a post full of reviews, and more importantly; pretty pics, following my viewing!

So, without further ado.

Much J2 goodness here... )

jensen, jared

Jared's character is sweet in Christmas Cottage. Though I do just find the whole film too cheesy.

He is def sexy as hell in Friday the 13th though! I know he gained muscle for the part, and it shows! Hair/clothes/etc all gorgeous too though. I really do not like slasher films, but Jared's hotness made Friday the 13th an enjoyable watch despite my dislike of endless gore.

Wow! I'm impressed with all your viewing! I haven't seem half of this stuff... no, wait, amend that, I haven't seen two thirds of it. In fact I think I've only seen Ten Inch Hero.

So I can't agree or disagree with your reviews but I can act very smug about young HOT!Jensen. I tried to tell you ... :)

Btw hun, will respond to your other comment/question re: the editing, in an email.

You've only seen 10 Inch Hero? And you call yourself a Jensen fan?!? *tuts at your lack of commitment*

Are you tempted at all to watch any of the above? Cause I have to say - if you go on Netflix you can get a month's membership for free, and watch Blonde and My Bloody Valentine if you want to (though Netflix doesn't have any other J2 shows). And you can borrow some of the others off me if interested.

Hehe and I thought of the conversation we had about young!Jensen when I watched Blonde. Ok, ok, you were right. I still maintain young!Jensen did some awful photoshoots, but he was hot. He was super hot in Blonde. Well when he wasn't talking to the camera or dancing around in 'Marilyn's' dressing gown...

And no problem about the e-mail.

I know, there is a bit of a discrepancy there isn't there?

I do call myself a Jensen fan but if I'm being honest, I'm a Dean fan first :).

I wouldn't mind seeing My Bloody Valentine but I'm really not that bothered about investing time in all those other shows he's featured in. Despite the fact that Jensen's in them, I just don't have the inclination to sit through so much dross.

I will always maintain Jensen was hot when he was younger but that doesn't mean to say I want to see him like that now. It does feel a wee bit like the behaviour of a pervert to lust after his younger self. I'd much rather stick to the present and future Jensen - but thanks for the offer of the loans. Maybe, if I'm ever laid up again (though touchwood that won't happen) I'll think about it then.

Well if older Jensen is all you're after (ok I'm making him sound old now! OAP Jensen) then do give My Bloody Valentine a try sometime. I actually re-watched it today as this post reminded me of the stuff I had watched, and I'm still on Netflix so thought I'd take the opportunity whilst it's still there.

He is by no means a Dean though!! But I found his character, Tom, interesting. Slashers usually have one dimensional characters in my experience (like Fri the 13th - Jared is gorge and everything but his character was simply: 'nice guy who's lost his sister'). And that's something I dislike in a show. At least in Jensen's movie his character is a bit more complicated and hard to work out. And added bonus - he is very much the main character. There is very little non-Jensen time.

Seen everything but 'The Christmas cottage' and I pretty much agree with you!

Lol you may well end up agreeing with my review of Christmas Cottage too then if we have similar tastes.

Still worth a watch though, just because it's Jared. Looking hot. I have actually watched it twice!

;)

Yes I wasn't keen on the writing of Dean in GG either. He started out so lovable, but then it all went downhill, and I thought his marriage made no sense when he was so in love with Rory and had previously been so determined to get her back ( ... )

I don't mind the main characters being flawed
I don't mind flawed either, but they did the same stupid mistakes again and again and it made me mad. I just felt so bad for the boys.

Interesting that you prefered it to My Bloody Valentine though.
I'm not really all that much into horror-flicks and even though both boys are wonderful actors and hot as hell, I am at heart a Jared/Sam-girl - guess that shows when it comes to movies like that. And of course, sometimes it might just be the random mood you are in when you watch it.

And wow you've watched...pretty near everything
At least of Jared. ;) I watched everything he did that I could get my hands on, which means everything except a few early days tv-movies.

I have season 2 of Dark Angel and Jensen was amazing in The Berrisford Agenda; he really got to show how easily he can play a character who's witty and funny on the surface but hides a lot of pain underneath (sound familiar?).

And I for one absolutely loved Jared in Friday 13th; that end fight scene where he picks Jason up off his feet and slams him against the wall is just WOW. I remember watching that over and over the first time I got the movie.

I can't speak about The Christmas Cottage; I was fighting off a sinus infection and so high on cold meds that anything would have been good. Loved seeing Richard Moll towering over Jared, though. :)

Oh, and we won't go into my overabundance of Feelings about the Smallville ep "Sacred." Nope.

To be fair I haven't given Dark Angel or Smallville much of a chance. I've just seen eps here and there and not found anything gripping. Maybe if I'd seen whole seasons I'd have appreciated them more, instead of random eps.

And Jared showing off his epic mucles is always impressive ;) My, he was buffed up for that movie; as if his body wasn't hot enough before! Just didn't like anything aside from Jared's hotness. But then I'm no fan of that type of movie; lots of gore, little story.

Yes there was also an actor in Gilmore Girls who towered over Jared. Don't know his real name only his character's name - Richard. Seems there are a lot of really tall people in the acting world!

Smallville sort of pulled me in, but I've drifted from it a little; I still haven't gotten through the seasons I have. Dark Angel was rolling along but of course it got cancelled so the story got cut off. Jensen was adorable throughout both shows, though; he is certainly watchable in everything I've seen him in so far (even Devour; he was the only good thing in that POS).

And yeah, Jared was ripped during that movie. (I only like the parts with him in it, too--after I determined that he lived; I still can't watch House of Wax for that reason.) I even heard that he auditioned for Ronon Conan the Barbarian! (Which would have been fabulous Sorry Jason.)
