On the metro to the company holiday party, a lady my mom's age leaned over and with a conspiratory whisper told me I was beautiful. A little girl on the escalator went, "pretty girl, mommy!". On the way home a girl my age leaned over to her friend, "she's pretty".

I broke my shoe leaving the party.

It is easy to be an everyday cindarella.

I'm trying to figure out some kind of derogatory term I can use to refer to those of you who have two operational legs. "walkers" doesn't sound right, and neither does "two-leggers", so I'm still in pursuit of finding a suitably insulting term for everyone who isn't a crip. Because I am a class act ( Read more... )

I was spiraling pretty fast and hard into depression as of today due to a lot of issues up here. So to cheer myself up I decided that I can hack it on one crutch from henceforth. This is working out well, albiet slowly so far. Yay for being ridiculously stubborn.
