Actually, it's 2am and I'm sure I'm not the first to use that line for a title.

I think my experiment is working. I do seem to be in better form for writing since I've been urging myself to take more opportunities to write. This includes posting on forums and other peoples blogs and journals and lest I forget, Twitter. ( NSFW content behind cut )

Man, it's been a trying week. None of it having to do with turning 55. In fact, the birfday blew by with barely a bow as each day I worked in my Mom's apartment. It's a classic dilemma. I've always approached journal writing as a form of monologue. A private journal, recording of thoughts, rants, misgivings, personal foibles. Blogging, however, is more about writing for an audience, a readership, a group with a special interest.

No, she didn't try anything that was self-harmful. She became ill on Thursday with some severe gastro-intestinal distress. I brought her something to help relive her symptoms and witnessed, for the first time ever, someone nearly delirious with agonizing pain. The misery of the event was relatively short-lived.
