The US government has a new website, ready.gov [ready.gov] . It's another attempt at scare mongering in the style of the old "duck and cover" advice after WWII.
The fun thing is that these pictures are so ambiguous they could mean anything! Here are a few interpretations.

1 Month Checkup
Liani had her one-month checkup today. She was in the 75th percentile for length, head circumference and weight ( Read more... ) -
Liani has tummy trouble
I'm going to start off with a question:
Is it possible that Liani could be *gasp* teething already?? She's 24 days old. I think I see two little toothies just starting to show in the bottom front. Isn't she way too young though?
Also, she has some poopy problems. Yesterday and the day before, her poo smelled sour. (She's exclusively breastfed ( Read more... ) -
Dr Visit at 22 days
Liani went to her first visit with the pediatrician.
9 lbs 6 oz (75th percentile)
22" long (90th percentile)
15" head circumference (75th percentile)
The ped is 100% breastfeeding supportive, anti formula, 100% supports home birth (and agrees that that's how it should be done) and his wife is a doula!

40 weeks, 1 day and NO BABY....
Well, yesterday was my due date and still no baby. I don't know what's up with her ( Read more... ) -
Officially 1 day away
It's now 12:21 am so it's officially August 22nd. That's one day before my due date. Unless this baby is born in the next 6 hours, she will officially be coming AFTER Alexander did. I seriously doubt there is any chance in hell that I'm going to go into labor and have this baby within 6 hours. So much for "second baby comes sooner." I ( Read more... )
