Little Thief

This little guy has been a frequent visitor lately. S/he is not shy at all, and keeps tasting the cherries to see if they are worth eating yet and lots of them have a nibble mark. I wonder if there will be any cherries left for us! :)

Lovely pictures

And much much cuter than the bloody flying foxes that steal all our mangoes every Christmas

Oh, mangoes! I envy you! And the flying foxes! *g*

The flying foxes are the biggest nuisance - and disease-ridden. But very little you can do about them since they're so protected by law.

And yes, I am a mango fanatic.

Well done to capture the pictures!
The only time I persuaded M to grow some blueberries in our back garden (well, it was more a case of bringing the bushes and a pot home so he didn't have a lot of choice!) it transpired that the blackbirds and I were in complete agreement that the blueberries were absolutely perfect for picking. Unfortunately the blackbirds got up about three hours earlier than me on the day i was going to pick them and there the berries were - gone! I had just two homegrown berries, and slightly underripe at that. Still, as Firle says, we can at least buy them when we want them! My friends who grow fruit here use a fruit cage as that is the only way they get any!

Oh, yes, I was admiring the fruit cages in England last year!
All the places I worked at had them. Or old curtains to wrap around the bushes!
Blueberries are one of my absolute favorite berries, and we have quite a few varieties. So far, the birds, squirrels and us humans have all had a share, but this year, we'll have to keep our eye out.
The birds sure get up earlier than we do! :)
My husband likes to grow lots of interesting berries, and the crows were eating his goumi berries with gusto. We wrapped that bush up, and still, the crows got any berries they could reach through the net.

Well, of course she's not going to pick them until they're ripe. *g*

I do hope some get left for you to enjoy.

Of course not! ;)
We'll watch the little judge and start picking as soon as she does!
