5 minutes of driving inside my head

"Ok, breathe, breathe, breathe, breathe. Everything is fine. Hands on the wheel. Ok, where are your hands supposed to be again? 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock right? No, no, no. Its 4'oclock and 8 o'clock! Remember, they changed it because of the air bags and you don't want the airbag to blow your thumbs off. Oh gee, that happened in the one file I ( Read more... )

I hate driving ): I'm always scared someone is going to do something stupid and kill me x_x especially around on-ramps...most I just refuse to go on and find some other way to get where I need to go or just plain don't go -_-

on ramps are terrifying. I think they should all be built with lanes that allow you to get up to the same speed as traffic... the way they are now its as though other drivers think its a contest to keep you from getting on the freeway.

I think there should be "driving etiquette" classes or a video game where you win by driving courteously.

My drivers ed had a section on driving etiquette vs aggressive driving.... I don't know if anyone listened though ._. I don't understand at all...I'm SUPER defensive when I drive because uh, *I* don't want to die. I don't know what these crazy drivers are thinking, if they get themselves in a wreck THEIR car will be bashed up and they may be hurt...it's just not worth it to go faster or to be thoughtless...not worth it at all.

In KS, the drivers on the highway are legally required to yeild to those coming on the ramps....in VA it's the opposite so half the time, I end up STOPPING at the ramp rather than being at the speed of traffic just because no one will let me in :P

I hate driving too...I don't do alot of it. I drive mostly within a 10 mile radius of my house. I don't do the beltway driving around DC at all. In fact, even when my husband drives on the beltway, I'm usually very fearful and nervous. When I do drive around town, I try to leave when there's not much traffic.

I've heard that the beltway requires a special kind of nerve to drive. And it is better for the environment to avoid driving. That's what I tell myself.

Heh, the beltway requires a special kind of nerve to even look at... scariest thing I've ever been on and I wasn't driving....constant lane changes because they exits are opening and lanes are disapearing...tons of cars going too fast.... ugh
