KIMCHI; may cause suicide afterlifekid September 11 2007, 16:53:25 UTC
You know, when it was on the AG menu I was like, "ooh I've heard of kimchi, maybe I'll try it."

Never did. And now it's off the menu.

The only thing in my house I can compare it to as I said in an e-mail earlier would be stew...but when I think of it, stuffed cabbage has a sort of sweet death smell to it as well.

Fermented cabbage. Just say it out loud. As far as I could tell is a very small amount of research they do not make beer out of cabbage. Now they make beer/alcoholic beverages out of almost everything it CAN be made out of, so they must've thought that fermenting cabbage was a bad idea. I think it's a bad idea...I think it's a bad idea just when I say it to myself inside my head.

Internal Question - "Hey Mitch, what do you think about the idea of fermenting cabbage?"
Internal Response - "No sir, I don't like it."

See, and I try very hard not to lie to myself in these private conversations with my self.

...and I saw that little option to move with your boyfriend comment, trying to get the livejournal community to put some pressure on me, eh? Smoothe move (exlax)... :oP I'm just playing.

My Dad's co-worker had a lovely Korean wife that I adored. I probably would have jumped off a bridge for her. But even she could not make me eat Kimchi. She actually dug a hole in her backyard and put a pottery jar in it to ferment the cabbage/etc.

As far as the stink goes....I cannot think of a thing that might help except maybe burning lots of incense in your own space....Or sprinkling black salt on their doorstep in the hope that they wil move away.

When I'm super sensitive the smell thing becomes a battle between me and Shawn. I have to literally ask him not to drink for nights in a row because I'll suddenly have an aversion to the smell of alcohol. Same goes for eggs for breakfast. He knows all this and tries to work around it but it isn't easy because sometimes I don't even know until too late that a certain scent is going to send my stomach round the bend ( ... )
