  • I am really nauseous right now cus I think I ate some rancid medjool dates that have been in the fridge way past their prime. I just threw them out.

  • I got 7 vials of blood taken this morning. I am finally able to go to my CFIDS/Fibromyalgia doctor specialist / internist again after not being allowed to see him for a year because of health ( Read more... )

Ooh.. I JUST added in links to the research papers.. it's a lot to read through (My brain is done for the day.. I printed it all out to read tomorrow).. Here.. let me put em here for you so you don't have to go lookin for them :) I haven't read them yet, but I am guessing these have to be it because of when they were published and he gives credit to my doc in one of them :) I am going to attempt to read this when I am not so delirious.. I just hope I can understand some of it ( ... )

I printed out the CFIDS papers and read through them last night in bed.. I understand SOME of it, but not a lot of it. It seems like the study isn;t complete yet.. It was an outline of what they were looking for (I think). Maybe they need more $ to complete teh study? I don;t know.

Oh thank goodness you are getting food delivered! I am relieved for you!

Oh my god i love it when you "blather" in my comments! DOn;t EVER apologize for that! :) I love hearing form you!

Oh man, I WISH they could cook it outdoors..Not possible though.. But I may have to ask them if they could STORE it outdoors instead of the garage which is right below my apartment... I came up with the idea of a "kimchi shed" in the backyard..lol. How do I present this idea to them? HAHA.

    medjool, hehehhe. huh?

Honestly I didnt read any of the ozone stuff, but I recall 'mr. sunday' touting the benefits of ozone injections, saying it cures cancer and whatnot. So, from what Ive heard, from him, ozone is a good thing? Maybe I should read those links...

yeah, there has to be another way to deal with this Kimchi situation...
What about insence? candles? air neutrilizers, horse tranquilizers?

I recall that on *MASH* kimchi was buried in the ground to ferment. Make her do it the real old fashioned way, in the ground!

Your BF has sleeping issues!!! mitchy22 October 31 2007, 09:04:09 UTC
    Hey m'*E*...

You're probably up but I'm trying to see if I can sleep again soon I slept like all evening and had dinner after midnight...I'm normal!!!

So in order to tire myself, I did some surfin' for you.

OK, so my brain farted a little bit earlier, Ozone is O3.
It's an allotrope of Oxygen and pretty much behaves in an entirely different way. Without getting too nerdy because this stuff gets very complicated very quickly here's some of the important things I could figure on why it might be good or bad at any given moment...

#1 It's highly reactive because that extra Oxygen atom, it's dying to find a new home and has a very strong chance of doing so. It is unstable at high concentrations even in normal atmospheric conditions... O3 becomes O2 within a half hour at normal conditions. More on this a bit later ( ... )

Re: Wow I should probably not be reading this right now since I JUST woke up.. but I tried.. sixshadesofgrey October 31 2007, 19:42:51 UTC
OMG I just attempted to type the word "tried" and it came out "tired" HAHAHA. Just to give you an idea of how fuct up my brain is right now. I read the CFIDS papers last nigiht and i think I lost some brain cells in the process! I didn;t understand a lot of it. but I'm sure you will.

I'm still confused after reading everything you just worte (I read some of that on Wikipedia and it confused me then too) But maybe It'll make more sense after my brain is turned on.

I noticed in your last sentence you mentioned "glutathione".. Hey that's one of the ingredients in my injections!

So wait.. Ozone=extra oxygen=free radicals=bad? And "antioxidants"=good? Ugh.. I need you to simplify this for me.. Maybe just explain to me in person. Using pretty charts. :P

Thank you so much for doing the research! You are awesome.

Part II of Situation: Kimchi mitchy22 October 31 2007, 09:04:40 UTC
#3 Really, it's all about concentration. From what the EPA says, in order for it to be reactive enough there still has to be a high enough concentration. High enough concentrations can be harmful to human health and at the very least irritate your lungs. So I don't think a device that releases O3 at acceptable EPA standards will do much, and one that releases too much can be harmful to your health. My guess is as far as Situation:Kimchi is concerned there's no guarantee that an Ozone generator WILL work and if it does it can STILL be harmful.

Alternatives / Solutions Section...Alternatives? Activated Carbon might be better for removal at the source. Problem is you might have more than once source. If it's the fermenting process that's keeping the lingering smells that is affecting you, removal of the fermentation process to OUTSIDE of the house might be your best bet. You could just start leaving them multiple containers of Arm & Hammer and cans of coffee grinds to place inside their bacteria haven ( ... )

How the last paragraph and change were supposed to read!!! mitchy22 October 31 2007, 09:13:45 UTC
Still from everything I've read, activated carbon/charcoal where the fermentation is going on and possibly at the installed air exhaust system while they're cooking (pretty sure a filter could be purchased.) They should use glass containers to store it and wash the outside of the container with cold water before they put it away. Unfortunately because CO2 Another side note, South Korea had Kimchi-in-a-tin developed for its soldiers during the Vietnam conflict, now I know the real reason why we finally pulled out.Really, if the odor permeates it tends to stick around, you might have to continue to do whatever you can to keep the odor from sticking to your own stuffs. My guess is you really need to just be on top of how you handle it and any areas where it might be left out and fermenting out in the open could be a big problem for you. Plus some dishes when being cooked smell worse than others depending on other ingredients. Maybe you'll need to print this bad boy out ( ... )

I was going to ask one of my parents if they could drop me off, but I dodnt want to burden you with having to drive me home since you have an early appt tomorrow.. It's gonna sound crazy, but how much do you think a cab would cost? I'm not gonna do that today.. but I was curious if I ever was able to get dropped off and wanted to cab it hime, how much would that cost.. or of it was even possible (I dont know how late cabs run on LI)

Eww.. someone just rang my doorbell.. I'm not dressed.. so I'm not gettin it. Plus I aint got no candy. I can give out Fiber One bars..hehe.

Okay.. I really want to see you later.. so I'll let you know if I can drive. Coming to you is the least I can do if you are driving me to the doc on Friday. Maybe I cna deliever you Halloween Grill.

Halloween Grill sounds tasty. Too tasty, almost...dangerously tasty.

I'm a mess, but maybe I could clean m'self up while you tend to the candy thieves, I mean Trick o' Treat-ers...I think I'm still a bit bitter (can I say bit and then bitter?) about the candy theft at Val's house a year ago.

I have to mention it again...my mom was wearing a wig when she left. Cody is here by the way you'll have to reacquaint y'selves.

I would drive you home in m'PJs before I'd let you take a cab home - I'd have to be unconscious. <3.
