HELLO GUYS.

With the application post up here I figure we should have a plotting post so that people can figure out who they know and what some of history they have with them. Since our characters will all be playing this game together, they should at least have heard of one another if not talked a bit ( Read more... )

I admittedly haven't given too much thought to what I want to do with Winry just yet, especially where guardians are concerned.

Personality wise though she'll probably be more or the less the same as she is in canon. She is very grounded in the science and logical. She is a pretty nice and understanding girl when she isn't angry. Then when she gets angry...oh boy can she become violent. For the most part though she knows how to take a joke, and likes to throw them right back.

She is very good when it comes to technology, will be more so here in this much more advanced world and she's kinda a geek about all that sort of stuff. I think she'll definitely be an inventor of sort, not just automail (mechanical prosthetics) which reminds me she's also a doctor. Are you going to give her an online chumhandle or text or whatever? It probably needs to be considered since communication is primarily text based in HS and especially when everyone is on different planets.

Also, did you want to have any sort of pre-existing CR with Dave?

Yup! I haven't come up with her chumhandle yet but she'll probably type in some shade of blue--probably like so. I'll probably just wait and see what everyone else picks first and go with whatever is left, if that isn't.

As for pre-existing CR with Dave, most definitely! She would try very hard to hide her music tastes from him xD and she'd probably sometimes have difficulty wondering when he was being serious or not but aside that I think she'd probably like him a good bit, especially if they've known each other for a while.

Is there any particular common ground or dissonance you think they might have?

Okay, awesome. Handles aren't too bad. I'd imagine she'd go with something like uh stethoscopeTinkerer or something less dumb. But sure, sounds like a plan.

I think the nice thing is that Dave has very little in common with his friends in canon - they each have distinctive likes and stuff. That said? Dave always comes to mind as being one of the more technically abled kids. I mean probably not to the extent that Winry is or Jade is with her nuclear physics, but well enough. He'll still mock her relentlessly because, lol, that's sort of his thing.

And not really, I guess. I'm the sort of person who prefers to play stuff out and see how it goes mostly. But because of the situation surrounding SBURB, it seems that generally speaking, everyone who plays it is destined to know each other well in advanced so. :X

Okay, sup suckas?! Nah, I'm kidding. So let's talk about Dave Strider for a little bit. So, I've got it fairly easy since Dave is canonly from Homestuck. I'm planning to keep his home, hobbies, and all that other junk the same. What does that mean? Well, Dave is one radically cool dude. He's into bands nobody has ever heard of, taking photographs, irony, running a number of blogs and webcomics, and remixing songs using his sweet mixing gear. Okay so. I have no idea where the heck to put Penelo here (last name Del Medico for SB purposes). Anyone wanna give me a hand here? XD;; Same with titles. sob

As for guardians, Penny's canonically an orphan living with a shopkeeper that we really don't have a lot of info on so I am cool with him dying in the meteor if that's still an option.

ANYWAY on to the fun stuff. Interest-wise, Penelo is dancer who's a matronly-type to her friends. I also tend to give her an interest medicine, to tie in with the mother hen habits, but that's not as big of a deal with her here. She also likes music she can dance to, attempting to cook and failing miserably, being responsible, and I'm gonna say painting. Penny is also prone to moments of sarcasm when her friends are being predictable or really, really stupid. I'm thinking her chumhandle'll be something like dancingHealer or colorfulDancer, and she'll have this shade for her font. Penny'll probably type like a normal person, with most punctuation in the right spot and capitalizing "I" if nothing ( ... )

Since they'll be in similar fields, maybe they somehow met each other through that? I'm still not sure what to do as far as Winry's guardian goes since her parents effect such a huge aspect of her personality. So far I'm leaning towards a Pinako equally divided between medicine/tech as Winry is. Either way her guardian is probably going to be a doctor of sorts. Probably one who travels a lot to help with the border conflicts.

If Penelo really dislikes trolls it might make sense to put her somewhere around there too where she'd be more likely to experience or at least be more aware of what they do. The Americas or the neutral countries probably wouldn't see as much of that, at least not in the recent years? This is all mostly speculation of course.

That might work, re: them knowing each other! And I was thinking of putting Penny in Italy or maybe Spain. Close to the trolls, fits the last name, and they're fairly artsy places that she'll be able to dance and paint in with no problem.

Ooh those would be perfect places.

I'm trying to think exactly how they met. I'm sorta working through the Guardian bit--gonna use Pinako but she's mostly out traveling and usually leaves Winry behind since it can be kinda dangerous. Maybe she did take her one time so the two of them briefly met in person and since then have kept in contact via internet?

Maybe we could sort of specify the titles? Like Strider pointed out, Dave is more stable-time-loops and Aradia is kind of doomed-timelines. So, like Dave's title would become the....whatever (one day I will get these down right) of Stability and Aradia the whatever of Doom?

Also I can sort of see Terezi being one of the few trolls Penelo can kinda sorta tolerate XD;;

My name is Bug and I will be bringing Kanaya and quite possibly Moomin into this crazy apocalyptic game.

I have two things I'd like to address regarding this setting - the clash in titles/land between Jade and Kanaya, and the fact that Moomin is neither human nor troll.

Titles and Lands

Regarding the former issue, I suppose I should take the opportunity to hit Man-D up and discuss it in more detail, but carrying on along the idea of splitting Dave and Aradia's roles in time manipulation into "Knight of Stability" and "Maid of Doom", perhaps Jade and Kanaya can split their duties as well. For example, one can take the role of creating the paradox duplicates and the other manipulates the genome? Something like the Witch of Duplicity and the Sylph of Variation or Idefk.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how the double planet idea would occur - perhaps the duplicate frogs are sent to Kanaya's planet for manipulation or vice versa.

Let me know if there are any other ideas to resolve this.

When it comes to sharing duties I think it's much easier with the Jade & Kanaya and Karkat & John. Especially the latter two. I like your idea of how they split the duties a lot as for the planets...hrm. The forge plays a part in this whole process, doesn't it? I know it's also what is used to destroy the queen's ring but since both of them have one I feel there is some involvement in it as well.

If that is the case then maybe one can have the frogs on their planet and the other the forge? To be honest I'm still a little lost on how the whole thing with the frogs works but hopefully that's something that might work. xD;;

As for Moomin I'm not sure if he complicates things so much, as it is that his situation would be a pretty sad one. As the only one of his kind his species would essentially end with him unless we wanted to try and find a way of maybe having characters create plans down the line of cloning him with others? That's the best I can think of but as long as he can access a computer and talk I think he'd be fine.

I think it might be logical to split it by frogs/forge as well (rather than breeding duties?) Perhaps one person does all the cloning and gene manipulation, and the other will be responsible for the Forge and whatever that entails - if the Frogs end up needing to be on that planet, maybe they all disappear and end up there through some bizarre game shenanigans. In any case, how this all gets done may depend on how much we find out about the forge by the time we start playing? I'll try talk to Man-D about it and work this out ( ... )
