Fro thr most part i'm pretty laid back as far as having an opinion goes. i don't really feel too strongly about very much in this world. but when i do it tends to be a very strong one

I think along similar lines. The degradation of traditions that people hold dear because of an influx of people it MIGHT offend is rediculus. You are right, if people went by your mantra, you two wouldn't have been having this conversation. For whatever reason Jessy must feel that his way of doing things is under attack and therefore feels the need to defend them there's nothing wrong with that. It doesn't sound like at any point he said that foreigners should stop behaving as they normally do when they get here just that they shouldn't go trying to change the institutions of their new country on the basis of beliefs not everyone shares.
yeah. well his big issue is that he felt that he was being kind of "invaded" for lack of a better word and that he was being forced to be a part of other cultured or change his views in order to be polite. he was complaining that people were praying where he studied ( which is done now, so i dont know how it makes much differnce) and that the school pub was debating whether or not to stop serving alcohol because certain religions disagreed with drinking. I dunno. i'm always open to the possibility that I'M wrong too. but in this case, i'm pretty sure i'm not.

if this is true it's absolutely rediculus.
For me it's like this. I have a house. you and your family move in and want to bring your stuff with you. fair enough we can make an addition. but then you decide you don't like my furniture and ask me to keep it in my room. not so much with the fair. I'd have to look but I bet I can find instances of this kind of thing happening.
