That's how long it's taken for my parents and I to get on each others nerves.

I'm was pleasantly surprises that it has taken this long.

Stayed in bed until about 2 in the afternoon. Just thinking and snoozing. Should have been cleaning or unpacking or anything according to my mother. But I didn't want to.

Well it's rainy and cold and 3am.

And my brain is bringing out all my unfinished stories and waving them around with new plot threads and interweavings and oh yeah what about this and that and you could say this and remember writing that and....

My loft room in OK is once again empty of my things. The air bed and suitcase make it eerily similar to the state of things a year ago today.

In contrast to last year though, everything feels as though it were in a much happier place.

So it turns out my parents don't have enough $ for a deposit on a house and moving expenses. Nor do I have enough on my own to get that apartment. pet deposits bite hard.

Together, we can get the house. Maybe. If I buy food/gas with my credit card for a couple weeks.

I have an oddly positive outlook to these seemingly dire circumstances.

My brother is a father.

Trying to wrap my mind around that one.

At 840am, my niece arrived.

I was grabbing breakfast at the Sonic drive thru on my way to the job interview.

She is sweet and beautiful and healthy.

The interview went well, the job is mine if I want it. The facility is great, the staff is friendly and it pays pretty well. Full time ( Read more... )

Tuesday we had a baby scare that involved approximately 9 hours in the car (possible exaggeration if not by much) and no baby. Turns out after hours of no progress they checked E and my niece literally had her hand in the way of her head. "Talk to the hand, cuz today is not my birthday!" And we came home ( Read more... )

Thursday morning I drove down to DFW with my aunt to catch a flight to Nashville, TN. As is now traditional for me, I was asleep before the plane took off, and woke approximately a minute before landing. It's the best way to fly really.
