[Anne Shirley trudges into town with bitter despair all over her face. Clearly, this is a girl in the very depths of sorrows. Her skirts and clothing look rather hastily assembled--as she had rushed to clothe herself after waking up in a little white dress that was practically less covering than her best pair of underwear. A young lady of Avonlea-- ( Read more... )

[ Passing by -- trying to work some of the stiffness out his leg, no doubt -- is John Watson who hears Anne speaking into her journal and glances over the red-headed girl.

She isn't dressed in the New Feather garb, but... ] Erm... are you all right there, miss?

[Startled, she looks up. The book? She leaves it open on her knee. With another sniff, Anne musters what composure she can find.]

I'm quite afraid that I have no idea where I am.

[ Frowning, John walks over. ]

You're in Luceti. It's uhm.. another world.

[Just a slight twinkle of oh wow, really? before she frowns once again.]

That is...oh, uhm--are you quite certain?

[Jack's been listening to all the crying. He's been listening to crying and or forlorn wenches quite frequently over the past two weeks or so, and really, it's not quite his forté to deal with that type of thing.

So at the mention of "locked," he simply draws a fancy little key.]

[Oh! Anne gasps. So this is some kind of magical book. Enchanted, perhaps, by a proud and arrogant wizard who soon thereafter caused his very own downfall. How romantic.

She touches the drawing and again wonders aloud:] So you are truly the key to understanding all of this.

[Wonderful. Forlorn AND naive. Jack simply writes with as elegant a flourish as he can.]

Something much betterer, lass: a drawing of the key to understanding all of this.

[She reads with a level of apprehension but--oh, she can't reply.

So instead she talks to herself, unaware that the book can pick that up:] I suppose I should be able to find some kind of a pen around here. And when I do, perhaps I can reply to the pride-fallen wizard.

TROLLS MORE--action after_march November 9 2010, 16:36:58 UTC
[April has been out and about more since the whole sleepwalking-wristbreaking incident, which was thankfully healed by Derek.

But for some reason she finds the sight of the unfamiliar and sorrowful young woman in period costume very charming, and notes a further detail that she feels gives them some solidarity.]

Hey there, you must be new. I'm April! Nice to see another carrot-headed girl in this place!

[She snaps the book shut and looks up--instinctively needled by the word carrot. Until, of course, she notices her comrade in hair colour.]

Oh! Then...then you know--how sorrowful it is indeed to be cursed with red hair.

Sorrowful? But it's fun to have red hair.

The great heroines of classic literature are blondes or beautiful brunettes. Even raven black hair is more sophisticated than carrot red.

[There is no better way to become accustomed to Luceti than having a large, ten foot tall dinosaur-turtle thing walking by on his way to the grocery store. He spots Anne and looks her over. She's not all that impressive. And who wears a hat like that?

Oh yeah, Bowser has very little brain to mouth filter.] Who wears a stupid hat like that?

[Hearing the voice before seeing the...thing:] This is a perfectly fashionable ha--[oh my goodness what is that. Anne kind of...sways, like she might simply faint.]

[Ah, swaying due to his impressive might and meeting a real king? Well he can't blame her for that.]

I've scraped more fashionable stuff off the bottom of my foot!

[Gripping onto the fountain as she certainly does not want to fall backwards into the fountain. Perhaps...perhaps she is imagining all of this and perhaps she has simply imagined one thing too hard and now she cannot find her way back out again?]

Well, a creature of your stature? [Hesitant!] I suppose it would not be difficult to step on all kinds of fashionable things.

[But you know, when you sit down at the center of the village you happen to invite other people to talk to you. Like this (dyed) blonde Japanese fellow here. Who, seeing a cute girl with a nice hat (yes, he likes the hat), happens to take this moment to sliiiiiiide in right next to her in a complete violation of personal space.

Oh and it's probably worth noting he wears that white hoodie over his wings so they can't be seen. And that his pants today are lavender. Yes, he wears gay pants; shut up. Anyway-]

Morning!~

[Oh dear well that is rather close, isn't it? But Anne is slightly preoccupied with being so so unhappy to get her back up about it. Instead, she simply eyes the boy with just the vestiges of a pout.]

Could you please point me back in the direction of Avonlea? I don't mean to be any trouble, but I do think I am lost.

[...Oh, she's new. He exhales lightly, before putting on a more neutral expression. He doesn't put that much more distance between them but...]

I've never heard of that place.

I cannot blame you, it is dreadful small. Though I do love it and I could never imagine living anywhere else which is quite a feat as I have spent most of my life before Avonlea imagining what it would be like to live somewhere else. [A slight sigh.]
