[Nibbling on the tip of her writing implement, she is pleasedsurprised to see Kida.]

Dear Kida,

I am not altogether convinced that it would be advisable; who is Mikado?

Dear Anne,

Mikado is my life-long compatriot who lives with me. I'm sure you would get along splendidly!!

Dear Kida,

Then, Mikado must be a kindred spirit of yours. Perhaps even a bosom friend?

I look forward to meeting her. Or--him?

- Anne

[She...nearly tags 'Shirley' onto the end, but decides not to.]

Dear Captain Sparrow,

Unfortunately, this was not one of the skills I picked up in Avonlea.

Yours respectfully,

Dear Mistress Shirley

Unfortunate, yes. There's no need to be melting the pine-pitch here, though. Epoxy. Are you a hand with a brush and bucket?

Sparrow

I did help Matthew white-wash the second barn a few summers ago.

The same to you,

[Nice handwriting is for people who care to spend time on it. Which would not be him.]

You know that all the apartments are free, right?

I don't think anyone has any cows to tend here.

Dear--?? [She scribbles that out.]

I really do not think that I am cut out for apartment living.

So, basically you're looking for someone who wants a roommate? Afraid I don't have any room, sorry.

- Rokuta

[Yes, he saw that scribble. He'll be polite.]

Yes. And as a gesture of good faith, I would want this housemate to know that I would certainly keep up my portion of the house work.

Thank you, Rokuta. Even if you don't have any room.

I guess you don't want to stay somewhere alone, huh?

[She nearly writes 'dear' down, as above--but, ah...]

Well they're not that bad, but I can't blame you. [He's not going to offer, though. He doesn't know her for one... and for two, he's already in a full apartment.]

Oh, but don't you find that when you become accustomed to a large, inviting home -- it becomes entirely impossible to go back to anything else. At least I can imagine that one of the houses here is Green Gables.

Dear JW,

I have some prospects in mind--the choice will be a tough one!
