Well, I did it.

There are only three people who know about this, which should tell you something.  But, I did something tonight that was a long time coming, and I'm glad I did it.  What is it, might you ask?

I just had dinner with Stephanie. Yes, you heard me right. )

im glad you finally got the closure you needed and that it went as well as it did. its amazing how hearing/saying things out loud can lift weights we didnt even know we were carrying. it sounds like you had a very much needed and well deserved, cathartic night.

on another note, this line; "You have every right to hate me. And I wouldn't blame you if you did." has now gotten A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash stuck in my head.

If I've accomplished nothing by this post, getting Johnny Cash stuck in your head is quite a good thing to do :).

before I read your cut, I'm going to go ahead and tell you that you didn't eat at the olive garden. her fb status says so.

So... that's what her Facebook status said? That she was "going to Olive Garden"?

yesterday morning it said "Stephanie thinks Olive Garden is in the cards tonight" then later: Stephanie in fact, did not go to Olive Garden tonight. THEN this morning ... wait, geez. you're her fb friend now, you can see it. (it was nice what she said, hopefully she's growing up)

Yeah, I logged in to FB to check on it, and what she said was really nice. I'm glad that she has the chance to put it behind herself as well.

If only for your own emotional well-being's sake, it's best to just let things go and not be angry about the things you cannot change. It's a hard lesson I've had to learn, and different people learn at different paces. But, you can't live your life hating people.

I hope you'll be able to come to terms with your own anger one day.

I would hope you've heard this story before....

But, she's my high school sweetheart. First kiss, first love, first *real* girlfriend. We got back together for a few months from March/April-July '07, and all the while she was cheating on me. She took off to Tennessee and went to be with her other boyfriend, and left me hanging.

I spent a year and a half hating her for what she did. And now I've forgiven her. I like to think I've come a long way.
