How Tony Manero would be spending his weekends if he had broadband

Saturday night bullet points:

  • Watching: Walking with Dinosaurs DVDs - a birthday present for Brady from his Uncle Eric - with family. Much CGI scatology (which the Weestaks find hilarious), sex and death.
  • Drinking: Cheap sake. "Comfort Liquor" has replaced psychopharmacology as my de-stresser of choice, with port and sake being my preferred ( Read more... )

Mmm, now I want curry.

They FENCE the kids in? What do they think, the Weestaks will guzzle all the pinot grigio the minute your backs are turned?

Given the Sideways option, I'd rather see Sandra Oh naked, too.

I will help you cage the gorilla with my sympathy if you choose to engage him. If not, well...denial is always my chosen method for handling unpleasantness, too. *ignores checkbook*

Thank you for reminding me that mine need shaving, too. What they offer in warmth, unshaven, they also offer in Velcro-ishness. Not fun.

(Deleted and reposted because I spelled "guzzle" as "gizzle". Fo' shizzle.)

Yes! There was literally a fence in between a tiny corner of the room and the rest of the store. The kids were given chairs and coloring books, but still...

I wouldn't put the grigio guzzling pasts Brady, but Catherine at least demonstrates decorum.

The gorilla situation reaches a bit of a climax tomorrow, so perhaps after then I'll elucidate. Until then, yours cryptically,

Oh, dear. It's only natural to compare Point A to Point B, so you needn't feel bad about comparing California to Kansas City.

Overpriced food never tastes quite as good as a bargain of a meal (unless you aren't the one paying for it). I wonder why that is...

The Russian mob works in mysterious ways and you ought to try to harness them as allies. You might lose a limb at some point, but the kids educations will be paid for.

Thank you for accepting my whiny behavior. You're too kind, as always.

Very, very true about overpriced food. I always wonder to myself whether that $50 meal was really twice as good as the $25 place we usually hit. In the end, there are few things in life as satisfying as getting more than your money's worth from something.

A borscht addict like myself would definitely benefit from a close relationship with the Russian mob. Plus I've heard their 401(k) match simply can't be beat.

I am soooo tired. I can't wait for mid-November when I have some time off. My computer should be here by then (I went to pick it up and it was just my frickin' printer) and we can chatty-chatty-chat.

Are the Weestaks all ready for Halloween? I'm sorry you're not having a better time of it in Cali yet, but give it a good year before feeling completely hopeless. I mean, you've only JUST gotten into some sort of routine.

Meanwhile, I am jellus of your weather.

Mid-November! Does Dell ship to Canada via Polar Express or dog sled, because that seems like a long wait. But then again, I'm an impatient mofo, so perhaps I'm being picky.

The Wees did a costume dress rehearsal today and are extremely excited about Halloween. I'll definitely post some pics tomorrow.

I'll definitely give SoCal the weather edge over... well, everywhere. I'll try my best to concentrate more on the area's many wonderful attributes instead of the absence of decent Chinese restaurants.

No, no, I meant, then I will have some time off to relax and chat. My computer should be here (read: BETTER be here) tomorrow. I will definitely chat before then.

Mmmmm.... chinese. I was thinking it was time I start tightening my belt and not eating out, but I could eat chinese tonight. I'd be tightening my belt for a whole nother reason. Mmmm. Ginger Beef.
