Photo Dump: Winter in L.A.

Some photos from our Sunday at Faria Beach, as well as a few from the Christmas Break.

Brady looking at a starfish clinging to a rock. The tide pool was full of starfish and teeny little crabs, but Christine also found a sea urchin and a sand dollar.

Yay! More cute pics of the kiddies :)!

I'm actually one of few it appears who is pretty excited about the lineup for Coachella... even though I won't be going! Then again, little things excite me. Simply seeing Depeche Mode, Ladytron, Imogen Heap and Damien Marley excited me. Perhaps I just don't get out enough :p!

I most definitely don't get out enough, but it remains to be seen whether that line up will be enough to do it. There's a lot of bands I like, but not many that I adore. They really should have consulted with me before publishing the line-up. ;)

Yeah, I see what you mean. Especially for being an outdoor fest! Those things can be fun, but you wonder if the conditions (heat, crowds, standing all day, etc.) can wear you out. I really enjoy Voodoo Fest conditions-wise last year. It was very laid back, downscaled, not very crowded, and the weather was shockingly nice. Benjamin Curtis (of The Secret Machines) and I were talking about that too and he was pretty thrilled about the weather himself. New Orleans is usually really hot in late October, but we needed sweaters last year! I'd love to check out some other festivals out of state one day though.

What do you think of Bonnaroo's lineup? I'd say it's impressive. One of my friends from high school went to Bonnaroo last year and loved it.

There's not much that's cooler than little blonde kids in wet suits! That photo where Brady is looking at the Starfish is gorgeous! Your children should be in catalogues! Seriously! They're Sears Wishbook material!

When Brady had long hair, he would have been a perfect Ralph Lauren model. He does have a little Mod thing going on with his shaggy mullet, so maybe a Ben Sherman for Boys gig is in his future.

Catherine is too obstinate to be as photogenic as she has the potential to be. That's at least the excuse I use about myself.

Tee hee. They are so cute. The rocket picture is great :)

I wish I could go to Coachella with you, I'd have enough enthusiasm for the both of us. Numerous bands in one place at one time omg wtf.

I've been to two all-day festival shows in my life, and they're REALLY fun until the heat stroke sets in. Coachella is notorious for being swelteringly hot, so I don't know if I want to subject my aged body to such trauma. I know it's rock-n-roll, but I chafe easily.

Aw, great pics! Catherine & Brady are both getting so lanky.

I loved going to the beach when I was little. Gazing out on the horizon, I always thought that if I just looked hard enough, I'd be able to see Japan. I even tried the message-in-a-bottle thing. Didn't work.

I hope the Weestaks brightened your day as much as young Barkowitz did mine.

I love the beach, and HOPE my kids get over their fear of sharks enough to really take advantage of it. Unlike their father, I'd like them to be an active enjoyer of the world rather than a passive one.
