Oh, how adoggable! (As we, er, say "adorable" around these parts, and by "these parts", I mean, "my house".) She's gorgeous!
I'm really glad about Parker doing better - I know how hard it is to go through a beloved pet's illness, but it's so encouraging when they still embrace life to the full and are still all, "same old, same old, you guys". My oldest cat is like that - visiting him at home, his gaunt appearance and sunken eyes shocked me at first, but he was same as ever, pushy and domineering and owning the lap of everyone who dared sit for a minute :P
On a related but unrelated note, re: the deer leg - I don't have one to gnaw on, but my boss's husband, who hunts, gave me a bag of minced deer meat with which to make chili. So Parker won't be the only one indulging in a touch of game, heh.
To paraphrase George Carlin - buying a puppy is buying a tragedy. Thank God they're so damn cute in the years leading up to that tragedy, though.
I had some tasty venison this past weekend. I feel like a hypocrite being not so much a huge supporter of the hunt, but still enjoying the spoils. Mmmm...gamey.
Hopefully Maizie will help keep Parker more active, if only in the cantankerous, "slow down, you darn kids" kind of way. I've always wanted a German Shepherd mix, so I look at my family finding her as a bit of fate.
Your dog really lived an amazing life, and your remembrances were very touching. I feel funny explaining how much Park means to me to non-dog people, so it's nice having someone else around who really understands.
Maizie is pretty darn cute. Fingers crossed that it'll be a peaceable kingdom when we bring her home!
OH MY GOSH! Wookit the wittle puppy! She is soooo cute! So cute! Who's cute? Who's cute? YOU ARE! You're cute! Yes you are!
Ahhhh.... I mean.... cool. Cool puppy. I guess. If you're into that sort of thing. You know. Dogs.
*Cough.*
She's totally awesome! And I'm glad to hear Parker is still terrorizing cats and woodland creatures alike. Sometimes I think the best thing about being a dog must be the doing whatever you want whenever you want to do it part.
The best part of being a dog has to be the various means of self-love at your disposal, but freedom is definitely a close second.
I can't wait to show C & B your icon. I downloaded a whole bunch of photoshopped "I am in your noun, verbing your down" pictures, and they're obsessed with them. My in-laws are thrilled, I'm sure, that the kids have been going around yelling "I am in your church, praising your Jeebus" on a constant loop.
