So, I have never driven a car as part of my morning commute. If I drive, it's because we are running late and I drive D to school and come home and get to my home office. I had to giggle - I've TOTALLY done that, where I parked my car in a different lot and forgot about it, and was all confused! I'm glad you ultimately got a chance to sit quietly and process your bad news though - and I hope it's not anything too serious :(
