I noticed a few weeks ago that Roosevelt the Cat's whiskers seems to be stubby and/or have split ends. Out of the 40 or so whiskers on his face, he only has about 5 on each side that are of reasonable "normal" length, the others appear broken off or split. I just got an email message from the Austin Public Library to pick up a book I had on hold. In the email, there was also a message stating, "As part of the 2008/2009 Library budget branch libraries will be closed on Thursday or Friday of each week starting October 1, 2008." I think this sucks.

I started a drawing class tonight. Loved it. The time flew by, and I was totally absorbed in what I was doing. I've always been fascinated by people's ability to draw. I never considered myself one of them....And after this class, if I'm still not, I don't really care....cause I'll have fun doing it regardless.

I took Zephyr to emergency care this weekend so that she could get round the clock attention, fluids, glucose checks, etc. Turns out that along with the diabetes, renal failure, and mysterious infection, she was also experiencing ketosis. Ack ( Read more... )

Zephyr, the kitty featured in this icon, is quite sick. It happened suddenly. One day she was fine, the next she is almost dead. Turns out she has diabetes and her kidneys are failing. She also has some sort of infection, as indicated by a high white blood cell count. She's been on fluids, antibiotics, and insulin for 2 full days now. I'm ( Read more... )
