Lights buzzing, sink creaking,
everything still

Representations of culture scattered
Paintings and pictures line walls,
Television and radio offer entertainment,

Alluring smells permiate from kitchen,
Waiting for someone to enjoy,
Ready for later

Overwhelming guilt in mind,
attending best friend's funeral,

Money for ticket, cost of vehicle,
not significant or important, though
